Just the Beginning


We’re excited to  be  making our first blog post.  We hope each day to inform and inspire your own Giving Nature so you can get the maximum potential benefits from Practicing Awareness Towards Human Sustainability.

So let us begin by making this recommendation:

Each day take a moment to find the calm center within you.  It’s where your Giving Nature lives.

Take a few deep breaths.  Focus upon only the calm rhythm of deep breathing.  Think of nothing else.  Then for a moment or two try to not think at all.

The old adage of “count to ten” before you act in a heated situation probably comes from this simple ancient practice of unknown origin.  Perhaps it’s as natural as Giving Nature itself.   If your familiar with Mindfulness techniques this will sound familiar to you.

The not thinking part is the most elusive yet it produces remarkable clarity of thought when you come out on the other side.  The heart expands and your Giving Nature becomes present.  Wise choices become apparent and easier to make.

A good way to establish this as habit is to use it when making food choices.  You eat often throughout the day.   Try to take just take a few moments to practice the technique described whether in a restaurant or making out your shopping list you’ll be surprised at your choices.  You’ll also be using PATHS consistently throughout the day.  This produces consistent actions and will lead to better choices in all you do.
